How can Chiropractic help you?
There’s more to chiropractic than just the relief of headaches and back pain! Our primary focus is the integrity of your nervous system, which controls and regulates every cell and tissue of your body. The moving bones of the spinal column can impair this vital communication link between your brain and your body. We help improve the function and structure of your spine, reducing nervous system compromise. The result? Even non-spinal related health problems can show improvement.
What to expect
First Visit: When you arrive at the Clinic for the first time you will be given a “New Patient” form to fill out, which will collect information on your presenting complaint(s) and any relevant medical history. You will then be brought through to one of our treatment rooms where a practitioner will take a full history and perform a physical examination. If Chiropractic can help with the presenting complaint, and consent has been given, the practitioner will then provide the first treatment.
Treatment: Each treatment will start with a short massage to address any muscular tension or guarding, and to relax the patient and prepare them for any adjustments that may be required. More specific soft tissue work such as Active Release Technique (ART), Cross Fiber Friction (XFF), and Post Isometric Relaxation (PIR) will also be performed if required. The Chiropractic treatment will be either gentle non manual adjustments (no “cracking”) such as Activator, SOT Blocks, and Mobilisations or manual adjustments (“cracking”) depending on the patients age, general health, and preference. When the treatment is completed the practitioner will proved some take home exercises and advice to help stabilise the presenting complaint and to allow the patient an active role in their recovery. There will be time at the end of the treatment for any questions or concerns regarding the patients presenting complaint, treatment, and take home exercises.
